Easy Bargello Rainbow Twin Quilt sewn in Pop Culture by White Owl Textiles!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Today I'm sharing a glorious rainbow Easy Bargello quilt made with a Fundamentals Pop Culture jelly roll by White Owl Textiles.  The bright white background makes this quilt really pop.

Easy Bargello is an easy version of a typically more complicated Bargello quilt design.

The pattern is in the shop right here.

This Quilt is Famous!

White Owl Textiles, a subdivision of Lumin Fabrics, featured this quilt in their booth at H+H America in Chicago, Illinois in May of 2026.  I am sure it brought many sighs of happiness as crafters passed by.  Rainbows are so happy!

The materials for this quilt were provided to me by White Owl Textiles.  This quilt was pieced and quilted by me, Myra Barnes.  It was so much fun visiting the Easy Bargello quilt pattern again!

Pop Culture Strip Roll

This stunning 2-1/2" strip jelly roll is called Pop Culture.  This group of fabrics is specially curated from their Fundamentals collections and named Pop Culture, and are subtle tone-on-tone prints, not solids, which adds texture and depth and a special touch to the finished quilt.  The strip roll includes 2 strips each of 20 prints in 2 rainbows, which results in the rainbow being repeated four times down the quilt top.  The background fabric is ECCO Solid in 700 Bright White by White Owl Textiles.

The back cover of the pattern includes the order the 40 strips are placed in to create this exact quilt!

Fundamentals Pop Culture is made by White Owl Textiles, a sister company to Island Batik and subdivision of Lumin Fabrics.

Perfect for Rainbow Jelly Rolls

This quilt pattern is perfect for rainbow jelly rolls.  Maybe you have one in your stash and are wondering what to do with it!  This is just the pattern for it.  Rainbow Kona Cotton strip rolls have been around for a long time, so you just might have one ready to go.

Easy Bargello isn't just a rainbow!

Maybe you're wondering what other fabrics work for Easy Bargello besides a rainbow strip roll.  This pattern certainly doesn't need to be a rainbow.  The prints could range from medium to dark in several colorways.  Here are some examples of this.  Click on the link below the image to read the blog post for that quilt (all of these quilt kits are sold out).

Includes Just the Twin Size

As you know, most of my patterns include as many sizes as possible from Baby to King and everything in between.  This pattern includes just the Twin size.  I know how disappointing that is!  Making other sizes would have involved completely new diagrams and charts for each size to create the strip sets, and I just didn't have it in me to figure all of that out when this pattern was written.

Keep reading for how to make the Baby size!

How to Make a Baby Size Easy Bargello

You can read about the Baby size Easy Bargello rainbow quilt I made in this blog post right here.  It is made with 17 different colored strips measuring 21" long, placed in rainbow order in a strip set.  For additional details, refer to the Easy Bargello quilt pattern, though it doesn't include specific instructions for the Baby size.

Longarm Machine Quilting

This quilt was quilted with Diagonal Bias Plaid, an easy modern quilting design, on my Handi Quilter Amara with ProStitcher with Superior Omni Bright White Thread.  I use this design when I don't want the quilting to overpower the quilt top.  Instead, it highlights the simplicity of the rainbow design.

Easy Bargello Quilt Pattern - the Rainbow and Gray Version!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Oh how I love rainbow quilts, and I'm thinking you do too!  Meet Easy Bargello, an easy bargello quilt pattern with no seams to match!

Easy Bargello is Strip Pieced

Easy Bargello is entirely strip pieced for a quick and easy finish.  The strips in between the pieced squares also mean there are no seams to match!  If you haven't made a Bargello quilt before this is a great place to start (or even if you have)!

The Twin Size

The Easy Bargello quilt pattern includes just the Twin size because it works perfectly for a single jelly roll.

The Easy Bargello quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Those Perfect Fabrics!

Easy Bargello is made with a Magic Colors jelly roll, available right here.  The background gray is an Essentials Silver Linings jelly roll by Wilmington with yardage for the top/bottom borders and binding.  There are 20 different gray prints in this collection, so the gray strips aren't all the same print.

So many fabric combinations will look great in Easy Bargello, not just a rainbow.  If using a jelly roll, just group the strips in the same colorway together, and have the different colors cascade down the quilt.

Longarm Quilting

Easy Bargello is quilted with Diagonal Bias plaid in gray thread on my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  This modern design works so well for modern quilts!

Easy Bargello Rainbow Baby Quilt!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Happy New Year!

Today I'm sharing a fun rainbow Baby quilt in the Easy Bargello quilt pattern!  It's such a fun and happy quilt and was so quick to make.

The Easy Bargello quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

The Easy Bargello quilt pattern includes the Twin size which is perfect for a single jelly roll.  The pattern doesn't include the baby size.  I calculated how to make the Baby size when making a quilt sample for my local quilt shop to display.  I may release a supplement to the pattern for additional sizes at a later date.  💓

Longarm Quilting

The quilting design is Diagonal Bias Plaid in gray thread on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  It's one of my favorite quilting designs with the modern feel from the consistent repeat of a geometric pattern.

This quilt would look beautiful quilted with simple diagonal lines on your home sewing machine, as well.

Solid Fabrics

This quilt is made with Kona Cotton Solids from my scrap bins, along with Kona Shadow, and a Benartex Rainbow Ombre fabric as the backing.

You can see two other Easy Bargello quilts right here.  One is a bright rainbow like this one, and the other is a muted rainbow with a charcoal background.

Easy Bargello features a rainbow, but other fabric schemes would work well also.  Using one color that gradates from light hues to dark hues and then back to light and then back to dark a few times would also be amazing!  Or choose two colorways with many hues of each color.  Or choose all scraps!

Strip Pieced

Easy Bargello is entirely strip pieced for a quick finish.  Sew strips together, then sub-cut them and sew them into the quilt top.  There are no seams to match which is very nice.

If you've never made a Bargello quilt before, this is a great pattern to start with since there are no matching seams, and all of the strips are the same width.  This makes it very easy to keep track of everything during the assembly process.

I hope you're inspired to make your very own Easy Bargello quilt!

Easy Bargello Quilt Pattern - The Muted Rainbow and Charcoal Version!

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for your support!

Today I'm sharing another Easy Bargello quilt!  If you've never made a Bargello quilt, this is a great pattern to start with because it is so easy!

That Beautiful Fabric!

Honestly, I can't remember the name of this fabric, and I can't find any information on it.  It is a tone-on-tone hatch-like fabric, as is the charcoal background.  The backing is a hatch extra wide from Connecting Threads.

Easy Bargello would also look great in a single colorway, just arrange the fabrics with hues going from dark to light, then back to dark, then back to light, however many times is needed to total the required number of strips.

If your jelly roll has duplicate strips, place one of each strip in the order you like, then repeat the order with the second of each strip.

Your jelly roll doesn't have to be a rainbow grouping either.  Just group the fabrics in the same colorway together and then arrange those groups in the order you like, and then you're set!

Strip Piecing and No Seams to Match!

Easy Bargello is entirely strip pieced, so it goes together very quickly.  In addition, there are no seams to match for the win.  Just eyeball the squares from strip to strip and keep them lined up.

The Easy Bargello quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

The Twin Size!

Easy Bargello is a simple jelly roll quilt pattern, and one jelly roll is perfect for a Twin size quilt.  This pattern includes only the Twin size because of the extensive amount of math that would have been necessary to figure out other sizes.  All of my other quilt patterns include two sizes, and 95% of them include five or more, so this one-size quilt pattern is the exception.

If you want a smaller quilt, you could leave off strips in the strip sets and decrease the number of vertical segments.  Or if you want a larger quilt, you could add wider borders.

Longarm Quilting

This Easy Bargello quilt top was made by Kare and quilted and bound by me in the Diagonal Bias Plaid design in dark gray thread on my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  I love this modern design that adds such depth to quilts.  I've never been disappointed with the results in the many times I've used it.
